KWx was founded in January 2002 by experienced professionals Michel Paarde Kooper (from the company Kenwil) and Joop Van Essen(former ABB-and later Cooper CEAG MD). |

KWx concentrated initially on domestic & international sales of electrical materials for hazardous areas such as off-shore and the petrochemical industry. |

September 2003 Two sales departments from ABB were successfully acquired (test and measuring instruments and power-electronic components). |

Beginning of February 2004 KWx was successfully audited for the ISO 9001:2000 certificate. |

February 2005 KWx opened an office in Belgium KWx BVBA-Kontich-Belgium. |

January 2006 KWx established a presence in the UAE. |

August 2007 Hans Segers, with 29 years of Experience with ABB, was appointed Managing Director on the retirement of Joop Van Essen. |

January 2008 KWx formed a joint venture in Abu Dhabi to service the Gulf & Caspian region. |
